CHICAGO COOL BLAST: FEATURING INSTORE'S AMERICA'S COOLEST STORES
(March 25. 2009)

Chicago, IL —The INSTORE SHOW is hosting a grand celebration of Cool Store Winners, past and present. This event acknowledges the 70 stores selected and judged on the appearance, marketing strategies, individuality and the cool story that makes their store unique and successful.

On Sunday, April 19, Dan Kisch, Publisher of INSTORE Magazine, will be hosting the event, taking place in the grand ballroom at the Navy Pier from 6-8 PM. Dan will introduce the 2008 winners in the number one category for big and small cool store. ZACHARY'S JEWELERS' owners, Steve & Challie Samaras will be representing the Small Cool Store category while Sarah Read will represent LEE READ JEWELERS, winner of the Big Cool Store category. All Cool Stores in attendance will be acknowledged.

Beginning Sunday morning, April 19, visit the Peer-to-Peer Theatre Area of the Exhibition Hall to listen and take part in interviews of past Cool Store winners. The interviews will take place in order to better understand the benefits of being a 'Cool Store' in terms of sales, customer service, product highlights, customer reaction and increases in store traffic, just to name a few…. In many cases, both peers and suppliers have offered accolades to the winners who have gone above and beyond industry standards to make a definitive statement about jewelry, fashion and their own business personalities.

The interviewers, who include Terry Chandler, President, Diamond Council of America; Brad Huisken, President, IAS Training; and Kate Peterson, President, Performance Concepts, will lead discussion of the strategies that led participants to achieve the Cool Store status and what they do on a regular basis to remain 'cool' and successful. The stores who have received this notable distinction will be able to relate the task of remaining ahead of the curve by maintaining their 'cool', so to speak.

Audience participation is encouraged in order for the winners to relate their visions, their motivation for each area that brought them to the level they have attained and their reasons for creating the sensory experiences achieved in winning. The event is designed not only to acknowledge creativity and innovative spirit, but to foster more attention to retail jewelers on the opportunities afforded them by breaking traditional barriers within areas of merchandising, marketing, design, display, and brand 'sense' issues.

The INSTORE SHOW has been deemed The Smart Jewelry Show for a host of reasons. One of these features is, indeed, the Cool Stores arena. This recognition and commemoration acknowledges what the industry is truly about - retailers searching the landscape for methods that energize the environments they operate in and the ways in which they touch the hearts and minds of guests. It is, in fact, more than just being about 'cool', but rather, it is about the artistry of presenting luxury goods in new and unique ways...ways that stimulate the senses, create sales and foster the experience customers have...those very experiences that cause them to be enthusiastic fans and to spend more time in surroundings that are captivating. Bottom line is better business practices.
