INDESIGN gets full launch, starts monthly publication schedule (December 15, 2007)
After producing two well-received prototype issues in 2007, SmartWorkMedia officially launched INDESIGN - "the magazine for the retailer of fine jewelry design" -- on a monthly publishing schedule beginning with the January 2008 edition.
The launch makes INDESIGN the second monthly publication of the SmartWorkMedia publishing group after INSTORE. The new magazine's circulation is 5,500 - with jewelers selected to receive the magazine according to the frequency and number of top jewelry designers and luxury brands they carry. Those receiving the magazine include the top jewelry stores in the United States, as well as stores selected for their potential of eventually reaching that elite level.
"The response to our two prototype issues was so positive that we felt it was a clear green light to move ahead more boldly into this market," said SmartWorkMedia publisher Dan Kisch.
While previous publications in the high-end jewelry market have published on irregular or widely-spaced schedules timed to coincide with the advertising schedules of manufacturers looking to promote themselves before major industry trade shows, SmartWorkMedia is betting that the market deserves and can support a leading publication with a regular, high-frequency publishing schedule.
"We feel that it's worthwhile to build a close, deep relationship with America's very best jewelry stores," said David Squires, SmartWorkMedia's group editorial director. "And we feel we can only truly become a part of their businesses by reaching them, and helping them, every single month."
